An individual Style Consultation takes approximately two and a half hours. The analysis involves the taking of a series of measurements and a visual assessment of your body’s shape and proportions. This information is then used to produce a specific and comprehensive Style Portfolio and Shopping Guide containing detailed style recommendations. Clothing and accessories are effectively deconstructed and each aspect of a garment’s design is analysed. You are advised on the styles that negatively impact on your appearance as well as those that will positively enhance and flatter your body’s shape and proportions. This helps you to eliminate garments on the boutique rack before you even try them on. Collars, necklines, skirts, dress styles, garment lengths through to swimwear, hats, glasses and more are covered by your portfolio. It also includes advice for hairstyles to suit your individual face shape.

When a Style Analysis is made 4 major elements of garment design are taken into consideration:

All garments have internal and external design features. These features have the power to enhance or detract from a body’s visual appearance. Chosen poorly they can make a body appear heavier, shorter and/or out of balance. Design features however, can work minor miracles in disguising all manner of figure challenges. Once you have the right information about your body’s own design you will be able to shop quickly and effectively. You will be able to recognise garments that do and don’t have the right silhouettes, lengths, patterns and textures. You will be able to choose clothes that are figure flattering and a pleasure to wear.

“We don’t know what it is that we don’t know.”

One of the most frequent remarks made by clients during a style analysis is: “I didn’t know that!” Women are frequently unaware of what it is they don’t know, they may even consider that they have all the information they need to look good. However, few of us are fully aware of the principles of line and design when we start buying clothes and developing a wardrobe for socal and professional purposes. This means that what we do know we have learned the hard way; by trial and error. And then just when we think we have it all worked out, one of those significant life and figure altering events occurs; pregnancy, menopause….or we simply gain weight and suddenly we are back to the beginning, not having a clue what to buy or wear. Nothing seems to suit or fit.
